I wasn’t always. Some of it came with age. Some of it came from exposing myself to discomfort and letting it fade. When I work with surrogate partner clients, we do an exercise where we each stand in the mirror and share about our bodies. I had Bariatric surgery almost 2 years ago. I could critique all sorts of things about my body. But it’s me and why would I speak so negatively about myself. This body has been through some hell. It’s fucking strong. I’m fucking strong. I love my body for sticking with me. I love my life. I love what I do. I love being able to love my clients and help them love themselves.

I decided to take some 🍄 solo yesterday, a very small dose. I think it was a good move and something I may do more often. I put my AirPods in and turned on some bilateral music (it bounces between your ears). I closed my eyes and I waited, watched, sobbed, etc. I can’t say it was a big positive experience. It definitely wasn’t. But I’d do it again. My takeaway: my inner ch ild is an egg I carry around, like they teach kids about having babies in school. Don’t break the egg! Similarly, I had a moment of remembering the exercise in grade school where kids try to protect the egg for a high drop, wrapping it up to protect it from breaking. Do I want my egg protected like that? Nope. I just need to carry it with love. And sometimes I can let others carry it briefly, when I need a break. But the egg is mine. I need to be the ultimate caretaker. Thank you to my clients who briefly let me carry their egg (aka hold them). I know I don’t let many people actually carry mine. And I know most of my clients don’t either. But some do. I feel it and I appreciate the honor and trust that has been built.

It’s not often that I get an opportunity to wear such attire… but yesterday I was meeting up with other pros so I busted out my new favorite top. 🥰 I really don’t self identify as a healer, more as a guide.
