CHANGE IN SIZE, CHANGE IN LIFE – Part 2 [Short story with montages for GiantDan] It was a particularly bad day for Jim. He had been searching for food for hours, but had come up empty-handed. He was so hungry that his stomach was growling loudly, and he could barely stand on his tiny feet. Meanwhile, Dan was lounging on the couch, engrossed in a movie. He had completely forgotten about Jim, as usual. Desperate, Jim crawled over to Dan's massive feet and taken by hunger and the desperate need to put something into his belly, he began to lick them, hoping to find some crumbs or scraps stuck on his immense soles that he could eat. Dan didn't notice, lost in his movie world. Jim kept licking and licking, trying to find anything that he could eat. But all he found was dirt and grime, mixed in with the sweat and odor from Dan's feet. He was so hungry that he didn't care - he had to eat something. As Jim continued to desperately lick Dan's feet, Dan suddenly felt a strange tickling sensation. He looked down and saw Jim, frantically licking his toes. "What the... Jim, what are you doing down there?" Dan asked, bemused by his friend's strange behavior but without being able to avoid a smirk. Jim looked up at Dan with pleading eyes, feeling ashamed of himself for what he’s been caught doing "I… I’m sorry… it’s just that…” he tried to explain “Please, Dan! I'm so hungry, I’m starving… I can’t find a thing to nourish myself! I’m desperate… You say you’ll give me some but then you keep forgetting..." he sobbed. Dan wasn’t pleased by Jim’s accusation of neglecting him. Was no doubt true but ras written nowhere he had to take care of him. Instead he couldn't help but found it amusing that his tiny friend was resorting to licking his feet for sustenance. Dan just srhug and chuckle at Jim's desperation “Well, seems you found a solution yourself after all… Keep on, i don’t mind it! Oh… and don’t forget in between the toes, i’m sure you’ll find plenty of stuff in there…” “but… but…” Jim stuttered our of shock, trying to argue but Dan’s voice overpowered his as he continued “And just be quiet now, i’m watching tv up here you know…”. Jim had tears running down his cheeks and just sobbed, nodding his tiny head and continued to lick his friedn’s colossal feet and toes. Dan just sat there and watched TV, enjoying the attention at his feet. Here and there he watched with mild interest and curiosity as Jim continued to lick his toes, but he had no intention of actually feeding him. Jim's desperation and willingness to do anything for food was both hilarious, intriguing and a bit disturbing. Finally, when the movie was over, Dan stood up and stretched his massive feet. He didn't even bother to check if Jim was still there - he just assumed that he had scampered off somewhere else. But as he took his first step, he felt a sickening crunch under his foot. Looking down, he saw that he had accidentally stepped on Jim, crushing him underfoot. Dan didn't even seem to care “Woops…” he just shrugged and went about his day, leaving Jim's crushed remains on the floor to eventually restore. It was just another day in their twisted, callous “friendship”...
